The opportunity of a lifetime was granted to one lucky Laurel Christian School first grader.  Seven-year old Trinity Ginn and her three sisters helped Miss Mississippi USA, Myverick Garcia choose one of her gowns for the June pageant.

“I was so excited!” said Ginn. 

Her mother, Heath explained the girls beg her to drive slowly past the local pageant dress shops because they love looking at the pretty gowns. 

“They love watching the TV show, “Toddlers and Tiara’s” so they are already interested in pageants and dresses.”

The opportunity to go shopping came with a school fundraiser, “Breakfast with Miss Mississippi.”  Those who purchased a breakfast and photo with Miss Mississippi USA ticket had the opportunity to be in a drawing for the chance to pick one of Miss Mississippi’s gowns. 

“We bought three tickets, one for each of the three girls who could go that morning,” explained Heath. “We never win anything so I was surprised when I got the call. What made it extra special was the fact Trinity’s birthday was the next day.”

Trinity, her three sisters, and her mother, all met Miss Mississippi USA at Elegant Evenings in Laurel, after Garcia narrowed the choices for the girls.

“I wanted to be able to give them some choices because there are a lot of beautiful gowns.  I also wanted to ensure it was something I could and would wear during the pageant,” said Garcia. 

The Ginn girls gave all thumbs up on the four dresses Garcia modeled, but the short bright orange dress won overall.

“It was fun modeling for the girls,” said Garcia.  “I enjoyed this event and it was great making the girls feel special”

Garcia, a Hattiesburg, MS native will show off the dress in Las Vegas, NV, in the June 3, pageant.
