TS Lee already knocks down trees, power lines

TS Lee already knocks down trees, power lines

Tropical Storm Lee has impacted Jones County exactly as forecasted so far: some periods of varying degrees of rain showers, some wind gusts, and spotted damage reports.

Lee did strengthen a little more than expected, however, when it became a strong tropical storm with sustained winds of 60 miles per hour. The storm is still slow-moving, creating the risk for very large amounts of rainfall across the Mississippi region.

The risk for tornadoes also increased for the Pine Belt, thanks to some dry air trying to work its way into the tropical system.
