PRCC graduates hear praise, advice from lieutenant governor

The following is a press release from Pearl River Community College:

Family and friends packed the Forrest County Multi Purpose Center, May 15, to see 525 students become graduates of Pearl River Community College.

The graduates received associate’s degrees or certificates of proficiency from Dr. William Lewis, PRCC president, who reminded them their education has not come to an end.

“Please do not forget that education is a life-long process,” he said.

Laurel High School seniors April Gant and Consuela Hadley signed soccer scholarships with Copiah-Lincoln Community College on May 11. Gant, who ranks ninth in the senior class, was on the Superintendent’s List, Principal’s List and Honor Roll for academics and citizenship. She participated in basketball, track and soccer, and served as captain of the LHS Soccer Team.

Nontraditional student is JCJC’s first female electrical technology program graduate

The following is a press release from Jones County Junior College:

Ellisville Junction’s Ronni Welborn was one of about 600 students participating in Jones County Junior College’s commencement ceremonies but she had the distinct honor of being the first female to graduate from the electrical technology program. Ronni is a 28 year-old female and the first lady in the program’s five-years to graduate from the male-dominated program.
