The following is a press release from Just Over The Rainbow Theatre:
Just Over The Rainbow Theatre is proud to present the sinfully spectacular ALTAR BOYZ, winner of the 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical. This high-octane yarn tells the story of a small-town, five-piece male vocal group (Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham) whose angelic harmonies attract the attention of the Big Apple and its decadent excesses. Can the boys resist the delectable indulgences heaped upon their plates? There’s only one way to find out, so don’t miss this hilariously heavenly treat that is suitable for all denominations!
The creative team of this rollicking romp includes director Michael Marks, musical director Jackie Thomas, choreographer Kevin Breazeale and technical director Chris Wooten.
The show runs Nov. 27-29 at The Historic Saenger Theater in Downtown Hattiesburg. Curtain is at 8 p.m. nightly. On Opening Night, Nov. 27, JORT invites its patrons and membership as well as the general public to its annual Membership Gala, to be held at The Venue, downtown, from 5-8 pm, preceding the performance of Altar Boyz at The Saenger.
Produced by special arrangements with R&H Theatricals, show tickets for adults are $10 and student tickets are $5. Ticket reservations are available only through The Saenger Theater Box Office: online at hattiesburgsaenger.com or by phone at 601-584-4888 or 800-638-6877. Member tickets are free, but reservations are necessary for preferred member seating.
